Security Forces - Consumable D.I.Y Luck Products / 2015

Another part of the FORnEVER project, a series of works that are focused on the pathetic attempts we make to try and feel secure, forever. These are "to-go" take-offs of ritual and religious objects, that suppose to with guarantee protection and good luck, anytime, anywhere.

Falling-inclined stars, for wish making and fulfilling. Extra safe safety pins, with added security against evil eye. Black fortune cookies, melting, re-shape-able fortune cookies from bees wax, and colored ones to cover-up every mood or degree of need. Some of the objects that I designed were touch-wood pendants, lucky hand-talismans ("Hamsa") which I personalized (with my own fingerprint and signature), and non-evil eyed lucky dice (with eyes). I also created Mundane Mandalas for secular use. The Tibetan Mandala is made out of sand so I was inspired to play with this idea of creating mandalas from “secular” (unholy) day to day objects such as paperclips, Q-tips, corks, peanuts, pins, drinking straws, etc.

As always in my works the "viewers" have an active role - all od which are created with the help and support of the audience, and handed as giveaway gifts at the relevant event.

Wish upon a Falling Star / 2015

Magen David (star of David) / 2008

The idea of the tea candle holder is to make the lights and shades look like a vivid meditative Mandala. The assembly of the star of David helps to multiply and extend the lights infinitely, thus empowering the relations between the three elements that construct the it. The work is forming the fire which mediates & combines.
