“My inspiration comes from benches in public gardens, from street lights, and from newsstands” - O. Henry

Location Location Location !

The subjects I deal with arise from my immediate surroundings, and my installations live among people

at their familiar “natural habitat”. Their place is not in museums and galleries, but in public spaces

and street corners. The locations and contents of my works complete and enhance each other.

An installation celebrates its' location - hints are pre-posted on Facebook creating a sense of adventure, adding some playful energy and attracting attention.

My main domain is Tel-Aviv, the city's pulses drive me to work and respond, yet I find similar vibrant pulses when I'm working in Berlin and Barcelona as well. The internet is also a domain space for me and I use this media (especially Facebook) to share my artistic process, to lead people to the locations of different works, to explain myself, to be in touch with my pARTicipants. After an event - a social interaction with an installation - took place outside in the public space pARTs of the work continue to find a new location in my pARTicipant's home. Many times these happy owners of a piece send me photos of their new work in its' new location.

Kiosk

Site-specific Installations

A KIOSK:

At the first kiosk in Tel-Aviv to be cast in cement (on Lilenblum st) I've put my eternal cement casted popsicles of Posicles FORnEVER.

Tree

A TREE:

At Yaacov Garden, the first and oldest sycamore trees in Tel-Aviv, I hung the healing leaves from my Last Leaf project.

A statue

A STATUE:

At Kadishman's Rising sculpture at Habima square (Habima is literally translated to 'the stage'),

I raised my Transparent People and made them stand out and become present.

In the triangular shape I hung ads and magnetic figures cut-outs. The ads are referring to the transparent person and are organized to correspond with the sculpture’s three circles. They represent the concept of the people’s "rising" as opposed to blending into the background. A note attached to the figures sent their finders to find the person behind it in another location - a Cafe called "The Little Prince", who said: "what is essential is invisible to the eye"- In did, much like the invisible people who are essential to society.

A PARTY:

a party

At an outdoors party by Midbern (The Israeli Burning man), I've installed a 'door to nowhere' in my No Time for Crying Over Spilt Milk.

A Vending machine, in a Museum:

Automatic vending machine, at the Jewish Museum in Berlin. My FORnEVER eternal cement-casted popsicles come out of the machine, in “the old fashioned way”. This location adds another level to looking at art - commercialization, the historic commemoration of the survivor among other aspects.

The World Wide Web:

Broken Telephone, an international art game, based on the internet platform, in which the players were 315 artists from 40 countries. Each player was given an artwork (in different mediums) and was asked to "copy" as closely as possible. Then the “copy” was passed on to another artist (of a different medium), who also "copied" it, and so on, again and again. Be sure to check out the fascinating website: telephone.satellitecollective.org/

Left to Right: I got a statue that reminded me of two works of art, the "scream" by Munch and "Fresh Widow" by Duchamp. From these two associations I created my interpretation: Re:fresh Widow

phone booth

A Phone Booth :

Street R.I.P (Rest In Pieces)--The street game- my work  was on exibhit for a week in a gallery with a number. Clues led to an extinct Phone booth which had a magnet with this number on it. The one who found it won the work.

[ Street R.I.P. - Another part or the FORnEVER project, matchboxes with imprints of things on the verge of extinction from the streets.]

Street Corners

A street art project involving social media, which honors and respects street corners. Public relations for corners, to which we don’t usually pay attention (pLay attention to corners). The ‘manipulated’ corners become a pedestal to things which are neglected- disappearing- frustrating, thus making them important and notable. People added their corners at home, at work all over the country and in other countries. We made Corner exchange - in the exhibition –We Love Florentine- pictures of corners from all over the world were photographed on corners of Tel-Aviv and vice versa.
